BRIGHTON HILL NEEDS YOU ...AND YOU...AND YOU!Our area's strong sense of community is undoubtedly one of Brighton Hill's greatest assets.However that's not just my opinion - it's also a view shared by those of you who took part in a survey organised by the team behind the Brighton Hill Community Plan. The survey found that our community spirit was cited as among our area's most valued features. I'm sure that none of this comes as a surprise to you. We're privileged to have a network of fantastic community organisations working hard in our neighbourhood: our numerous schools and churches, our area's housing associations, our youth club, sports clubs and Scouts, the Brighton Hill Community Association, the Cafe Project ... I could list more but there wouldn't be enough space in this edition of the Brighton Bell (which is, itself, another much-loved community asset). Our community organisations make a big difference in Brighton Hill and, as one of your Councillors, I'm keen to do everything I can to support them. We're already making progress, and have recently brought a number of these groups together to see what we can achieve collectively. Of course, there's the important role that you playas a local resident - thousands of people providing the lifeblood of our community on a day-to-day basis. As you'll see in many articles in various editions of the Brighton Bell, we need your help to maintain and grow our important community facilities - such as our youth club, which has to find thousands of pounds of new funding once its grant runs out in less than 18 months.
